Sembla Press has been sold. Legally, I am not allowed to refer to the sale as a hostile take over, so I won't. (But it might as well have been).
Part of the agreement was to immediately "take down" the site. Instead, based upon our assessment of the competence of the hostile (to us) parties, we have left this up for those curious individuals who are searching for information on Sembla Press, so that they will understand the situation. Every thing from the original site has been archived and stored for possible future use, including all the Forum conversations between authors and readers. We also kept a copy of the every entry in the various contests held over the years, not just the winners.
Check back here for updates, one of which could be finding this site no longer active, in which case we recommend searching for a site with the title "SemblaPressOriginal.com", which is being held in reserve.
Stay tuned — I expect it may take some time (perhaps months extending into years) — but there will eventually some sort of re-emergence. This I promise you. Currently, I am thinking about posting some blog entries to tell the tale of how we have gotten to this point, but my lawyers say it might not be wise. Still, when have I ever been wise? Or heeded the advice of others, especially those who can charitably be called "necessary evils"? (What's the difference between a catfish and a lawyer?)
